StormTracker 8: Storm Tracker 8 Weather Alert Day! T'Storms 2pm to 7pm

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - It is a Storm Tracker 8 Weather Alert Day today as we will see strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and some of those will contain some heavy downpours and gusty winds.  

 

We will start your day off with partly to mostly sunny skies and it will be hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s. Around 2:00 p.m. we will start to see some thunderstorms developing off to the west and those will gradually move towards metro Richmond between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. they will move to the east and be out over the Chesapeake Bay between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. 

 

After the storms clear this evening, we will look for mainly clear skies and it will be comfortable as the humidity begins to drop tonight across central Virginia. Our overnight lows to fall back to near 70. 

 

Friday is the first official day of summer with the summer solstice at 11:54 and it will feel fantastic. We will be looking for mostly sunny skies and it will be warm but not humid with highs in the middle 80s.

 

Saturday will also be a delightful day with partly to mostly sunny skies across central Virginia and it will remain comfortable with highs in the middle 80s.

The humidity will begin to creep up just a bit on Sunday and we will see partly sunny skies with our high temperatures climbing into the upper 80s. There is a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm or two late in the day.

 

The heat will push back into central Virginia on Monday as we see our high temperatures climb into the middle 90s and we will stay there for Tuesday and both days will feature partly sunny skies with the chance of an isolated thunderstorm late in the day.

 

Wednesday will feature mostly sunny skies and it will remain hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s.
